The San Antonio Spurs started out as the Dallas Chaparrals of the original version of the American Basketball Association in 1967. Led by Player/Coach Cliff Hagan the Fallas Chapparals were one of 11 teams to take the floor in the inaugural season of the upstart ABA. The Chaps second season was a bit of a dissappointment as the team finished in 4th place with a Mediocre 41-37 record. In the playoffs the Chapparrals quickly fell to the New Orleans Buccaneers.

The San Antonio Spurs are one of four former ABA teams to remain intact in the NBA after the 1976 ABA-NBA merger and is the only former ABA team to have won an NBA Championship.  The Spurs have won more NBA Championships than any NBA franchise except the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls. The Spurs' perfect record in NBA Finals series is surpassed only by the Chicago Bulls, who have won six with out a loss the Bulls and Spurs are the only two teams to maintain perfect records through  multiple Finals series. As of July 2009, the Spurs rank third among active franchises for the highest winning percentage in the NBA history; they habe only missed the playoffs 4 times as an NBA franchise

The San Antonio Spurs have 4 Championships, 4 Conference Titles, and 17 Divison Titles

The Spurs are currently number 2 in The Western Conference with 24 Wins and 10 Losses

Oklahoma City Thunder's History

Formerly the Seattle SuperSonics, the Thunder were relocated in 2008 after a dispue between owner Clay Bennett and lawmakers in Seattle, Washington. The SuperSonics qualified for the NBA Playoffs 22 times, won their division six imes and won the 1979 NBA Championship. In Oklahoma City, the Thynder qualified for their first playoff berth during the 2009-2010 seanson. They followed this success by winning their first division title as the Thunder in the 2010-11 season

Founded as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1967 and relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008

The SuperSonics had 1 Championship, 3 Conference Titles, and 6 Division Title

Oklahoma City has 1 Division Title

The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently Number 1 in the Season with 27 Wins and  7 Losses

Their Official Colors are Light Blue, Orange, Gold, Navy, White

 I used all 5 of the team colors but had to mix OPI'S Whats With The Cattitude and Essie's Mezmerize to create the Light Blue color I also used Dr's Remedy Noble Navy, Sinful Colors Nail Art Flower Girl, SinfulColors Snow Me White, and China Glaze Cross Iron

Isn't my basketball cute?  I know my nailart is a little sloppy but I really like them!!!

The light blue dots is the light blue I got by mixing 1 drop Mezmerize and 3 drops 

What's With The Cattitude

Once I am magically blessed with a steady hand I will achieve straight lines and perfect dots.

Basketball and Nail Polish: 30 Day Challenge Day 1 Lakers

Its All Star week in the basketball season so I decided to a 30 day NBA Challenge it's not nail art specific you just have to capture the essence of the team, I am starting with The Western Conference and making my way to The Eastern Conference!!!

The rules to the challenge are simple 30 days 30 teams It doesn't have to be nail art but you can I will be trying some nail art and you can just to a manicure with the team colors.

So I present to you Day 1

The Los Angeles Lakers

Just a little history on the Lakers 

The franchise started with the 1947 purchase of a disbanded team, The Detroit Gems of the NBL. 

The new team began play in Minneapolis, Minnesota, calling themselves the Lakers in honor of the state's nickname, "Land of 10,000 Lakes". The Lakers won five championships in Minneapolis, propelled by center George Mikan, who is described by the NBA'S official website as the league's "first superstar". 

After struggling financially in the late 1950's following Mikans retirement they relocated to Los Angeles before the 1960-61 season.

The Lakers have 17 Championships, 32 Conference Titles, 22 Division Titles, 

and have retired 7 Players/Jersey numbers

The Lakers are currently 5th in the 2011-12 season with 20 wins and 14 losses

Their official colors are Purple, Gold, and White

 I used OPI Funky Dunky and NYX Girls Gilded Glitter perfect combo for the Lakers Purple and Gold main parts of the their Logo
